Reid Hoffman by Kalyani Mookherji

Born as Reid Garrett Hoffman on August 5, 1967 in Palo Alto, California, the future entrepreneur was a brilliant student since childhood. His mother, Deanna Ruth and his father, William Parker Hoffman, Jr. were aware of young Reid’s potential as the boy grew up in Berkeley, California where he attended The Putney School. After graduating high school he enrolled in the Stanford University where he won both a Marshall Scholarship and a Dinkelspiel Award. He graduated in 1990, with a B.S. in Symbolic Systems and Cognitive Science.
