Pandit Bhimsen Joshi was one of the last of the Hindustani classical music. Gifted with a voice that could capture the subtleties of pain and happiness he lifted his audience to sublime heights. Belonging to the ‘Kirana’ gharana he was a rare genius who did not stick to his gharana culture rigidly but transformed it with his sensitivity and creativity.
