Bisanzio fra tradizione e modernità: Ricordando Gianfranco Ficcadori

The volume collects the studies presented on the occasion of the XII Day of Byzantine studies dedicated to the Fortleben of Byzantium in art, literature and institutions, in an intertwining of interdisciplinary perspectives which, through the mise au point of specific problems, testifies to the documented vitality of the Byzantine tradition in modern culture, also enhancing the role that the University of Milan had in Byzantine studies in this field of research. The many interests of Gianfranco Fiaccadori, to whom the volume is dedicated, have also contributed to this: for over a decade he has lavished enthusiasm and expertise in the Milanese University, stimulating the studies of young people and starting research still in progress. The memory wants to be the sign of gratitude for an event wanted and organized with the usual rigor.
