Gare e giochi Matematici: Studenti all’opera

The PLS (Scientific Degrees Plan) Mathematics was born to make mathematics exciting for students and teachers, through the implementation of engaging and fun activities. Three games, in particular, have been designed and organized as a (non-competitive) competition by a team of young mathematicians and proposed to students in Piedmont. Being able to involve and stimulate all students, who are often unaccustomed to working in groups, was one of the objectives of the competition organizers. There is no need to be a math genius to be able to take part, but all you need is the desire to work with a collaborative spirit. The actions of the PLS proposed in this volume are addressed to students as unusual and creative laboratory activities and followed by lectures on captivating themes, which highlight the various facets of mathematics in the reality that surrounds us. This volume documents the competitions and games, the orientation conferences and the PLS national conference referring to the A. 2012/2013, thinking that the collected materials can be reused by the teachers in order to repeat the experience with their students.
