Going Circular – Sustainability Compendium

The textiles-apparel-fashion industry has been grappling with sustainability for a while. Everyone knows what sustainability means and what a sustainable future ought to mean. But few agree on what path to take. What makes the discourse on sustainability extremely contentious, and perhaps even nebulous, is that the means to a sustainable world is not yet “settled science.” In spite of the furious disagreements, what most agree upon is that one of the best possible ways to be sustainable is to transform the existing system into a circular economy. These are early days yet, but these are also the times of ideas. What happens in the days ahead will depend on how these ideas coalesce, if at all, or how one holds sway over another.
