Herencia y transmisión del testimonio en Chile: Donde no habite el olvido
What is the role of the witness in the face of state policies? What are the instances that define the production and reception of your word? How to make visible the traces of the testimony in an amnesic reality, increasingly conditioned by the market? At the crossroads between the legal-political and literary territory, the texts gathered here set out to reveal the ‘secret’ of testimonial praxis, illuminating a series of narrative works that describe the Chilean contexts between 1973, a sadly celebrated year for the beginning of the dictatorship, and 2015. The voice of the witnesses (HernĆ”n ValdĆ©s, Jorge Montealegre, Rolando Carrasco), the autobiographical repair of pain (Guillermo Núñez) and the translation in poetic word of resistance to horror and violence (RaĆŗl Zurita, Diamela Eltit) join the mediation of memory by secondary actors who, in the process of ‘narrativization’, expose the past to new discursive instances, repositioning and redefining their contours (Carlos Franz, Fatima Sime, Lucia Guerra). The set of essays reflects an approximation to the testimonial as an always unfinished search exercise, which is carried out in the opening towards the other, in the assumption of its instances, in the inclusion, always unfinished, in its universe.
