The volume intends to examine in depth the problematic aspects that have affected the electoral matter in Italy in recent decades: both in the relationship with the sources of law, and in relation to the main elements of “electoral engineering” which followed one another in the legislative framework. Avoiding ideological “harnesses” and assuming, as main points of reference, the fundamental Charter and its most authoritative exegeses – doctrinal and jurisprudential – it will be finally attempted to identify an electoral model “constitutionally preferable.
