Sociologia dei contesti di apprendimento

This volume aims to discuss the theme of continuing education from the point of view of its social construction and the role it plays within society in the Italian and European reality. The key places within which the analysis is developed, both theoretical and addressed to the concrete conditions of implementation, are: school, museums and training in the world of work. Today we are witnessing a wide-ranging debate on the subject of education that incorporates very different analyzes, interpretative questions and theoretical approaches, aimed at offering a reading of the complexity in which we live and of the possible answers to the constantly increasing needs for training in terms of complexity and scope. Reviewing the different theoretical orientations, the reflection focuses on the social constructs of identity, inclusion, belonging and geographical origin and their impact on formal and non-formal learning. The frame of reference, which includes the exploration of continuous learning, also considers the question of education policy, highlighting problems and achievements of Italian governance in the different contexts of knowledge. The analysis on the non-formal and formal dimension of learning, which runs through the whole volume, makes it a versatile tool for the study of new learning environments, in the hope of being able to feed further food for thought.
