In the Italian school numerous courses, conferences, competitions and updates accompanied the introduction of the IWB and the computerization of teaching. Against the background of a varied horizon and starting right from the merits and limits of institutional interventions, this work exposes interesting initiatives such as Divertwards and Innovascuola, technologies applied to disability and the inevitable commercial interests, and then move on to analyze free operating systems or for a fee, the types of software, copyright issues and learning objects.
