The first Prime Minister of Independent India and the creator of Modern India, Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14 November, 1889 in a place called Meerganj in Allahabad. His father’s name was Pandit Motilal Nehru and his mother’s name was Shrimati Swarooprani. They were Kashmiri Brahmins.
